Building a Global CCS Community of Practice
The IPAC-CO2 Community of Practice links a worldwide network of experts over an advanced online knowledge sharing, collaboration and communications infrastructure.
Memorandums of understanding have been signed with the following organizations:
Africa
The South African National Energy Institute (SANERI) was established by the then Minister of Minerals and Energy in 2004 as a subsidiary of CEF (Pty) Ltd., the state energy company in South Africa. The South African Centre for Carbon Capture and Storage was established in March of 2009 as a division of SANERI.
Australia
The Cooperative Research Centre for Greenhouse Gas Technologies (CO2CRC) is a collaborative research organizations focused on carbon dioxide capture and geological sequestration. CO2CRC is an unincorporated joint venture comprised of representatives from Australian and global industry, universities and other research bodies in Australia and New Zealand.
Brazil
The Centro de Excelência em Pesquisa sobre Armazenamento de Carbono, the Centro also known as (CEPAC), is the first Brazilian center for excellence in research and development of carbon dioxide geological storage technologies. The Brazilian Carbon Storage Research Center is located at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul in Porto Alegre.
Canada
Carbon Management Canada Inc. (CMC) is a national research network focused on carbon management in Canada's fossil energy sector. It is a federally funded Network of Centres of Excellence, with multiple provincial, academic and industry partners. Carbon Management Canada Inc. is a multi-partner, multi-disciplinary network focused on accelerating research and development, training and commercialization of knowledge-technologies toward zero-carbon emissions fossil energy systems.

China
North China Electric Power University (NCEPU) was founded in 1958 and was designated by the State Council as a key university in China in 1978. NCEPU is affiliated with the Ministry of Education and is officially listed as one of the 211 Project universities in China.
Europe
Imperial College is a British university in London specializing in science, engineering, medicine and business. Imperial was ranked 5th overall in the world in the 2009 Times Higher Education-QS World University Rankings of universities worldwide and was placed 26th in the Shanghai Jiao Tong Academic Ranking of World Universities. Formerly a constituent college of the University of London, Imperial became independent of the university on July 8, 2007, the 100th anniversary of its founding.
India
The Energy Research Institute was established in Delhi in 1974. As the scope of its research activities widened over time, the institute was renamed The Energy and Resources Institute in 2003.
USA
The Colorado Energy Research Institute (CERI) is located at the Colorado School of Mines. Established in 2004, CERI ‘s mandate is to develop energy-related research and educational programs involving government, industry, universities and the public.
