The issues around carbon capture and storage are global in nature. Several groups and partnerships around the world are conducting research into geological storage of CO2, with risk assessment as an important component of the work. IPAC-CO2 seeks to connect and support this expertise and build confidence for implementing CCS on a large scale.
Overall, the majority of activities to be managed by IPAC-CO2 will be undertaken by research providers in various international centres. Agreements have been signed with research organizations in eight countries on six continents: Canada, USA, Europe, Australia, Brazil, China, India and South Africa.
